In Dishonor of Fake Patriots (This meme is, unfortunately, dark.) This is no laughing matter, but mockery is a time-honored tradition in the resistance to authoritarians. What some are calling Alligator Alcatraz is actually more akin to Auschwitz. Alcatraz was a prison, but the detention center built in the Florida Everglades is not a prison. As the Holocaust Museum has indicated in a statement, prisons involve due process and formal charges.  The U.S. government is rapidly building or renting places at home and abroad that have neither of these things. Cruelty is the entire point of these places.  The one in Florida has the added demerits of relying on funds that should be going to emergency relief and being located in an environmentally sensitive area.

 In dishonor of Knot-C apologists Although it is possible for a still photo to make a casual gesture or hand placement look as if it were part of a salute, an actual salute is a verb -- something that is designed to be intentional. Recent news has many apologizing for a very high-profile, fascist salute that was executed twice -- by a well-known racist currently reviewing the employment of many thousands of U.S. public servants.
